Our founder and principal consultant is Paul Teggin BSc FIA CERA.
Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (2003) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (2011), with over 20 years’ experience in the UK life insurance industry. Immediately prior to founding Polynya, he was a Senior Technical Specialist in the Life Insurance and Pensions Risk Division at the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), leading teams of actuaries assessing Solvency II Internal Model and Matching Adjustment applications and supervising insurers.
Paul’s skills span the lifecycle of risk modelling, from deep understanding of the underlying mathematics, through practical and innovative implementation of data and models in software, to clear and straightforward communication of insights at Board level to facilitate commercial decision-making.
Prior to joining the PRA Paul made substantial contributions to several successful Internal Model and Matching Adjustment applications, and so is very well placed to advise insurers on the application processes and how to achieve regulatory approval.
